→ GENERAL MOD NOTES
Welcome to the second month of Cetana! We're very excited to begin August and we hope that you enjoy what we have planned. Please read these announcements carefully. This entry will double as a feedback post/HMD for our first month and as a plotting post.
⬥ Cetana is now a player-invite game. Previously, the game only accepted new players solely through mod invites, but current players in the game may now extend their own invitations. Players may invite one newcomer and when this newcomer submits their application, they must specify who they were invited by. The player who extended the invitation must then comment to the newcomer's application to confirm that they did invite them.
⬥ Character tags have now been added to the main community (cetana). Please ensure that you use your character's tag whenever you comment into an entry.
⬥ The code for info pages has now been updated to include stats. Please ensure to add this section to your info page. Our apologies for missing it at the beginning!
⬥ Starting from August, players may now submit their own player plots. Please refer to the newly updated Player Plots page for more information.
⬥ Due to the dungeon thread requirement not being reached in July, the remaining amount (2 threads) must be fulfilled by August 11. Players who have submitted threads for the previous month may submit a maximum of two threads again this month. These new threads must start in August and may be submitted under the same thread reporting toplevel. Players may create new threads in the July dungeon log, in their inboxes, or in any other post.
⬥ The calendar for August is as follows:
- 08/01 - Game feedback
08/03 - Event log #1 is posted
08/11 - New dungeon turn-in deadline
08/12 - Event log #2 is posted
08/31 - Activity Check closes

In addition, these are the following changes within the setting:
⬥ The Occult Shop: in the central shopping district, there was a store that was closed down and had a sign that read "under construction". It was closed throughout the entirety of July, but will now be open for business at the beginning of August, complete with giant signs announcing its brand new reopening. Although the owners of the store, an elderly couple, mainly sell books and items based on the Japanese occult, they will also buy some of the items that Shadows will drop in the dungeons.
⬥ With the failure to defeat the Daitengu from July, temperatures in the game setting will rise to an all-time high. It'd be advisable to stay indoors to avoid the sun's intense glare and to stay hydrated. In addition, a number of NPCs are suddenly vanishing. These numbers are small at first and could be explained with various different excuses, but the numbers will increasingly grow until it cannot be ignored any longer. In addition, the strange apathy that runs throughout the town will continue and Hirajiro will resemble more and more of a ghost town until the boss is defeated.
⬥ The Velvet Room: starting from August 12, characters may access a room that is hidden and unseen by regular NPCs. In this room, mod-played NPCs will assist the characters with plot clues, information, items, and various other tasks. These NPCs will be properly introduced in the second event log and more information will be given in regards to their characters and the Velvet Room. After August 12, players may contact these NPCs at any point by commenting to the newly created NPC Contact page.
→ AUGUST 3 - FESTIVALS
- The town of Hirajiro is finally ready to display the fruits of their labor through two different festivals. Both festivals will be put together in one log and will be posted on August 3rd for players to tag into.
⬥ School Cultural Festival: hosted on August 3 and 4, the three schools have created the school festival as a joint effort. As expected from a school cultural festival, there will plenty of food stalls and attractions, such as a small haunted house, cafes, and various different performances. There will also be a particular NPC that will provide some very important plot-related information that characters will have to act on.
⬥ Tanabata Festival: taking place by the lake, the townspeople will be celebrating from August 6 to August 8 with a grand festival. It is encouraged to either buy or rent a yukata to wear and partake in the various carnival games. There will be twice as many food stalls and there will be small workshop stations that characters may use to create their own decorations. In addition, characters may write down a small wish on a tanzaku and hang it. These wishes can be submitted by players under a toplevel and will be granted, pending mod approval. On the final night, fireworks will be set off across the lake and bring the festival to a close.
→ AUGUST 12 - PLOT ADVANCEMENT + NEW NPCS
- From the 13th to the 15th, yet another festival will be held in Hirajiro. The Obon Festival commemorates the deceased and paper lanterns are lit in order to guide the townspeople's ancestral spirits into the town. Various lanterns are especially hung around the school's vicinity and at the lake, and during one of the nights, the townspeople will light lanterns that are cast away on the lake's waters.
On the final night of the festival, characters will follow the NPC's clues from the school cultural festival and will be able to get further insight into the world and how they could return back home. Furthermore, they will discover that both the castle and shrine have great significance to the plot and how their actions will affect these two areas.
In addition, with the arrival of the two new mod-played NPCs, characters will be able to ask them various questions to gather information. There will be top-levels that players may tag and discuss with these NPCs. There will also be general prompts across the log that characters can interact with.
This log will be posted ahead of time on August 12.

Whether they are positive or negative, we would like to hear your comments about the game. Was there enough to do in the event logs? Were the dungeon thread requirements too high?
